Our Common Future Now
The Belief Problem Business Has Not Yet Named

Publishing September 2026. By Kenneth Alston.
I entered this work around the same time the world formally agreed on what “sustainable development” was supposed to mean. Four decades later, despite extraordinary effort, innovation, and investment, we find ourselves facing worsening ecological decline, widening inequality, and increasing strategic confusion inside organizations.
This book asks a simple but uncomfortable question:
Why are we less sustainable today, on almost every measure, than when this journey began?
Our Common Future Now is my attempt to answer that question honestly, drawing on 40 years of experience in corporate sustainability, systems design, and applied practice.

Our Common Future Now publishes September 17, 2026 — ten days before the Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition Directive becomes enforceable across EU member states. The belief gap the book names is now a legal exposure as well as a strategic one.
If the book’s argument names something your organization is already experiencing, the Belief Architecture Diagnostic™ is the next conversation.
